Spa Treatment

Tehya caught me with a face mask on tonight and thought that she should have one on too. After being sick for so many days I had thought that a relaxing bubble bath and a refreshing facial would be rejuvinating - leave it to Tehya to remind me that a silly face contest was needed too!

The Crud Hits our House

Easter Sunday Dan wasn't feeling well so he stayed home to rest up while the girls and I headed to Kasson to visit my grandparents for Easter.
When we got back home I found Dan in bed running a 104.4 temperature! It was quite scary as he was a bit delerious and wasn't quite sure what was going on.
Grandma Sue was able to come up and sit with the girls while I took Dan to the ER to get checked out.
After several hours, three bags of fluids, a gammet of tests, a round with the nebulizer and some pain meds that finally knocked him out it was determined that Dan had Influenza B. The doctor told me that Dan was not to be left unattended for the next 24-hours and that he needed his temperature to be checked every hour to insure that it was not peaking again. I was really worried about him, especially when they told me that people die from this!
A HUGE thank you to my mom for staying the night to take care of the girls so that I could attend to Dan. I was worried that after taking care of Dan that I would make the girls sick if I got too close to them.
An even BIGGER thank you to my mom for staying through the next day and night as well since I ended up getting sick too! She became a master at chasing after our sicky butts with the Lysol spray! Knowing what we were dealing with my doc was able to get me on the meds right away to keep the fever down so I didnt have near as a bad run as Dan did.
We are now at Thursday evening and we are just starting to get back to normal. Dan and I have both been home from work all week and have been struggling with not being as snuggly with the girls as we like to be.
We thank our lucky stars that neither Tehya or Ada have gotten sick, and thanks to everyone that has called and checked in on us. I think we are finally ready to rejoin the world of the living!

Easter at GG and Papa Charlie's

Easter Sunday mom and the girls headed down to Kasson to celebrate with GG Dixie and Papa Charlie. Daddy stayed home to rest up since he wasnt feeling too well. Uncle Jake and Grandma Sue were there too, however we didnt seem to capture any pictures of such! The girls had on their Easter dresses that Mary Jean gave them and both looked quite beautiful. Tehya is starting to look like such a young lady and Ada just doesnt stop growing!

Celebrating Easter with the Milbrandt's

On Saturday Dan's family came to our house to celebrate Easter. We had a table full of yummy food, baskets full of goodies and a great day of visiting. Lauren captured Ada's attention here reading to her.

All four girls in the Easter finery

Tehya was quite pleased to see a Reece's peanut butter egg in her basket!

Getting ready for Easter

Ada decided that she was not going to be left out of the egg dying festivities, she took good care of the box for us!
Tehya has always loved dying Easter eggs, and this year was no exception. I think her fingers are still a little mis-colored!

Tehya and Daddy team up to color our eggs.

Wednesday

Tehya Hammin' It Up

I want to get moving!

From the first time I felt Ada kick when I was pregnant I knew she was going to be a mover and a shaker. She is a very mellow girl - but those little chubby legs of hers never stop moving!

Her most recent leg work is trying to stand on her own. She has started trying to pull herself up on things, and with just a little bit of assistance getting balanced she can actually stand on her own!
I don't think we will be waiting too long before she is off to the races after her big sister!

Sitting Pretty

Self Sufficient Girl

I made Ada a bottle a couple of nights ago and set it down on the ground for a second...well I turned around and saw that apparently she doesn't need us to hold it for her anymore!

Monday

Warning - Diva in Training!

I meant to post this last week, but the time just got away from me....

So I was getting ready for work in the morning and Tehya was sharing the mirror with me brushing her hair. I asked her to grab mommies earrings from my nightstand to be a helper - which she gladly did.

As she put my earrings on the bathroom counter she looks at me and says, "You know mom, I know where you can get some NEW earrings...you can go to Jared!"

I had to giggle a little bit and I asked her "Where did you hear about Jared sweetie?"

"It was on t.v. mom - I think you should tell Daddy about it!"

At a girl Tehya, at a girl.
