Baby Number 2 is a Girl!

We had another ultrasound today for baby number two, which was wonderful! I absolutely love seeing the heartbeat and still find it totally mind boggling that we have technology that allows us to watch the little being growing inside of us!

Everything with the baby is developing as should be and our expected due date is still August 19th. (although I am a firm believer that they will come when they are ready, Tehya was born exactly on her predicted due date!)

It was fun to watch the babies movement on the monitor and feel it at the same time - I could watch her wind up before each kick! (Dan thought that was pretty neat too)

Tehya had a blast watching the "baby movie" on the monitor, and kept giggling when she saw the baby moving her arms. (Try as the ultrasound tech did, she couldn't get a clear face shot because baby was being so squirmy). Tehya was convinced that the baby was trying to swim out of me! That gave the ultrasound technician quite the case of the giggles, which was amusing. She and Tehya bonded quite well and we were sent home with 6 full size print photos of the baby.

Dan and I have decided on a name for our next little princess, however have not yet agreed on how to spell it... good thing we have a few months yet to decide!

Tehya learned that running while looking behind you isn't the greatest idea in the world - fortunately daddy had a little bit of neosporin and a Dora bandaid and was able to patch everything up!

Princess Tehya

After dinner last night Tehya informed me that she didn't want to be called Tehya anymore - "that's boring mom" I was told. When I asked her what I should call her instead (yes, I know, big mistake on my part) She said "My new name is Princess Tehya. You and Daddy can only talk to me when my crown is on. Thank you for understanding."

I want a bath and I want it now!!

Tehya has been on a major bath kick lately – normally she gets a bath every other night (unless of course she needs otherwise) but that hasn’t been good enough for her lately and she has been demanding a bath every night.

The other night as we were finishing up dinner she once again decided that she needed a bath. I was very worn out, tired and admittedly a bit cranky, so I told her that she wasn’t going to have one that night. In typical Tehya fashion she decided to argue the point again and again asking for a bath. Finally after giving her about 5 different reasons why she wasn’t going to have one I was getting even more worn out (and more cranky) and told her “we take baths when we stink – you don’t stink, so you're not getting a bath tonight!”

She thought for a minute, lifted her little butt cheek of her chair and let out a HUGE fart! Without even blinking she looked at me and said “Now I stink so now I take a bath right?”

Dan and I almost fell off our chairs.

To note: Tehya got her bath that night - how could we say no at that point?!?
