Our New Arrival - Ada Juliet

Ada was born on Tuesday August 21, 2007 at 12:30am after
a very long 12 plus hour day for Mom and Dad at the hospital. She weighed 8 lbs 1 ounce and was 21 inches long.
Big sister Tehya was pretty tired by the time Ada decided to arrive!

Both Grandma's managed to stay awake for her arrival as well!

Tuesday

Weekend Up North

Tehya caught her very first fish on Horseshoe Lake -
It was her first cast ever and it was on her brand new Barbie fishing pole! Even better yet it was a bass...although a tiny one, so Daddy was happy!

Tehya and Daddy on the WaveRunner -

The faster he went the happier she was! We could hear her on shore laughing as they zipped back and forth... I think we have a speed demon on our hands!

Tehya and Daddy playing in the sand -

They built a sand castle with a moat and a tower for the princess to live in...and then had a blast stomping it apart!

Tehya went tubing behind the WaveRunner all by herself-

She was very brave and refused to ride with one of her cousins to try it out!

Angie and I comparing our preggo bellies -

I think I won!

Gardening with Grandma

The very beginnings of our new walkway garden
Tehya and Grandma Sue busy planting our new botanical treasures

Tehya says she is "Grandma's Little Gardener"

Hopefully she inherits more of Grandma's green thumb than mom did!

Finished product with everything planted...Now we just wait for it to grow!

Garden contains Blackeyed Susan Daylily, Stella Daylily, Tigerlily, Larkspur Delphinium, 2 types of Sedum, and Catmint - all are supposed to attract butterflies!

All Toweled Up

Tehya loves her butterfly towel and thinks it is hilarious to stick the antannae up on the hood and run around the house...
Mom thinks it is hilarious when she catches Tehya in middle of a sneeze!

John Deere Girl

Tehya's newest Power Wheel is a John Deere Gator with a working dump bed.
This was her pose when we told her to look like she was working hard!
Just cruising!

Friday

"I know what you guys are doing!"

Sunday night we were enjoying some family time in front of the tv with Tehya laying on one couch and Dan and I on the other. Dan had his arm around my shoulders and we were relaxing before heading back to work Monday morning.

All of a sudden Tehya asked "What are you guys doing?"

Dan replied with "What does it look like we are doing?"

She was quiet for a few moments and then said "I know what you guys are doing."

So I asked the question, "What are we doing honey?"

"You are doing SEX!!!!!" she says and starts giggling like a crazy person.

Dan and I about fell off the couch while biting our toungues to keep from laughing - how in the world did our sweet little 3 year old Tehya come up with this? How does she know this word? Does she know what sex is? Oh my gosh do we have to have "the talk" with her now? My head was spinning like a top. I am so not ready for this part of parenthood.

"Well Tehya, Mommy and Daddy are just cuddling" Dan says, I think trying to end the entire conversation. "Would you like to come join us?"

"That's GROSS dad!" she spouts back with a disgusted look on her face. "Sex is really gross!"

Boy do I hope she still thinks so at 16!

Wednesday

Tehya the Artist

One of Tehya's favorite things to do is to play on her art easel. She tells us she is working on her projects and that it is very important that she does not get interupted, so this is one of the few pictures I have been able to capture of her "working" without her growling at me! Painting is her favorite (and messiest) past time, but she also enjoys the whiteboard and chalkboard options her easel offers her. Maybe we have a budding Picasso on our hands!

Tuesday

Jacob Graduates!

Jacob graduates from Saint Johns University with a double major

Jacob with mom and big sister - the two proud ladies in his life!

Even Tehya got in on the action and wanted to hold Uncle Jacob's diploma for the picture! (Dan was our photographer for the day)

Tehya's First Dentist Appointment

Tehya has visited the dentist with Daddy before,
but this was the first time she got to sit in the special chair!

Hygenist Carrie counted 20 teeth and took special XRay pictures of them!
Tehya even got to choose bubblegum toothpaste! She got a sticker from Dr. John for her special book and was told that she was a great patient!
